The second pic reminds me of one of my favorite scenes in 'Eraserhead' where Henry is trying to take care of his mutant child, who has been fussy. And when he looks over at his mutant/kid, it is all of a sudden covered in open sores and is oozing all sorts of stuff, and Henry goes: 'Oh, you ARE sick!'
