You can try...but we be heading out to Deb and Jim's new faboo house for gift exchange/dinner at 1. (Dinner 4-ish?)

I'll be home tonight, deciding whether I want to repot and wire up a bonsai for Adam & Jennifer or whether I'm just gonna let them kill it themselves (oh a green thumb is not an apppendage my sister-in-law possesses).

I feel almost like an accessory to murder even giving her a plant. 8^D

I meant beaUtiful!!
I have been in town all day shopping and will now start some serious gift wrapping while the kids are out....y'know last night a young man called to take my daughter to a Chrstmas dance...the first time she has had a 'proper' date where the young man has worn a suit and had to shake her Dads hand etc.,....they looked so sweet and we felt so old!! Just you wait till your son brings a girl home for the first time...it feels mighty strange...good, and natural, but sooo strange! And if she's anything like me there will be things her daddy need never hear about!!! I visited my mom and dad yesterday with my daughter and son and felt blessed to be the 'middle'..still a daughter and also a mother. Anyhoo thanks again for the C.photos....you have a good heart.

Awww...you're welcome!!

Y'know, I'm 42 and I STILL haven't had a 'proper' date. (Not that I'm holding out for one at this point. I'm just sayin'...)

And I DO NOT WANT TO THINK ABOUT MY KID ON A DATE YET!!!! It's already bad enough when he plays grab-ass with my friends.

Do you think your daughter will tell YOU things she won't dare tell her daddy? Or, having that good head on her shoulders, do you not need to worry about her even DOING things she'd hesitate to share with dear old dad???

I'm right there with you on feeling blessed to still have MY parents around and also BE a parent--many people don't get to share that cross-generational connection. It is a wonderful thing that I try never to take for granted.

Whew...tired.
Sleep soon. Get ready for round two.

And maybe make that bonsai in the morning (by 'make' I merely mean shove a regular plant into a bonsai pot, prune it up a bit, maybe wire a branch or two, and hope that it stays alive long enough to be groomed and trained by someone else into an official bonsai. Not holding much luck out for that given the recipient's gardening acumen, but once it's out of my hands it's out of my hands!)
