Antics
Jasper did both this film and the New Year's Eve thing by shooting thousands of still pictures with a digital camera and then stringing them together in a video editing program.
I did something like this once, way back in art school. Only I had to use a 35mm film camera with a motor drive. And THEN I had to develop the film, print up 36+ images multiple times, hand tint them, align them using some sort of pinhole registration and finally shoot them frame by frame onto Super 8 film. (And that was just for the raw, unedited footage. Editing that film was a whole other time-consuming process.)
I'm a big fan of old-school photo techniques. But THAT was way too much work.
I'm liking the new technology much better.
